I did a bit of searching, but didn't seem to find this problem.

Basically, I'm running Windows XP x64 SP2 host OS, and Virtual Box 2.1.0 with Windows XP x64 SP2 guest OS. I'm trying to get it working with a shared folder, but haven't had much luck. I've installed the guest additions, and configured a shared folder. Now, I can see the shared folder in the guest OS, but any time I try to open it, the window freezes. I'd tried several different ways, but anything that tries to look inside the folder freezes. I tried removing, and reinstalling the guest additions, but no luck.

Anyone know why this could be happening or know a way to fix it?

Try disabling the WebClient service, it might help. I don't use Windows, or even x64 for that matter, so I can't help you with it. It's also possible that the GA just don't work properly on XP x64.

As for the reason of the bad manners concerning bumping, not everyone is here at every hour of the day. You posted the topic when I just woke up (my local time) and the bump was a mere 12 hours later, which makes it around the time I turn on my computer and make my run through the forums. Some people just don't live next door who can help you. We all have our daily jobs.

Now, on with the topic. Have you tried it with a normal network share? Does that work? If it does, then it's probably the incompatibility of the GA on XP x64 (they were actually build for Vista x64, due to the low use of XP x64). There isn't a real reason to run XP x64 (or any other 64 bit OS) in VB now anyway, because of the 3,5 GB limit you can set to the VM.
