USB 2.0 not working on win2k guest

I'm running 2.1.0 with a win2k sp4 (all current updates) guest w/ 2.1.0r41146 guest additions on a debian Lenny install w/ self compiled 2.6.27.9 kernel from kernel.org.

Everything is working properly except for the USB 2.0 EHCI controller. When it's UNCHECKED in the configuration, devices work. For example I can plug in a usb drive and it shows up in windows immediately.

When the EHCI controller is CHECKED in the configuration and the guest rebooted, the devices show up the the usb icon in the vbox menu bar but they don't work.

Looking in the win2k device manager, I see an entry under "other devices"

?! Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller.

How do I enable this??

Look into the FAQ / User Manual for setup of "USBFS".

USBFS is working. I already did the mount modifications. If I hadn't it would not work with just the usb 1.0 (OHCI) enabled (remember I can mount the usb drive in windows 2k when EHCI is disabled).

Are you sure that your Guest supports USB 2.0? Windows XP only had USB 2.0 support _after_ installing SP1a. You need a separate update or driver to be able to use USB 2.0 on 2k systems.

Yeah, that was it. I knew that SP4 supported usb 2.0 but for some reason it didn't install the driver automatically after I enabled 2.0 in vbox. I had to right click on the device in device manager, do properties and "reinstall" the driver.
