I cannot view site on CentOS Web Server on windows 2003 host

I have used virtualbox in the past, switched to vmware, now back because of poor performance...I installed the latest vb version 2.1 and swtiched networking to Host Interface and selected network card. I installed CentOS 5.2, httpd and mysql, php...it pulls an ip from my router, I can ping it but I can't reach it via browser. I can reach it from lynx on the server itself using localhost, but I can't reach it from any other machine. I don't believe the problem is in the CentOS settings, as they are the same as I used on vmware server.

Linux doesn't register it'self to your router's DNS 'server', nor does it broadcast it's name with IP address like Windows does. You can only access it by name if you add it to your hosts file (\windows\system32\drivers\etc\). However, as you use DHCP on your network, it's likely that the IP changes. You can get around that by setting a static IP.
