Upgraded from 1.6.4 to 2.1.9. Host is XP SP2. When trying to start a guest, XP SP3, I get VM cannot start because the host interface 'VirtualBox Host Interface1' does not exist.
A Ubuntu guest seems to work just fine......

When you upgraded, the Host Interface adapter was removed from your networking adapters. You don't really need it anymore it seems. Instead, your real network adapters should be listed below, so choose "Host Interface" and below, choose whichever adapter gives you internet connection.

Go to Host Adapter's NIC "Local Area Connection"
- Right-click | Properties
- Enable VirtualBox Host Interface Networking Driver
OK
Go back to VB and the Host Interface should now be there.
