One last USB peripheral that doesn't work...

Hello, I have VirtualBox 2.0.6 installed on my Ubuntu Linux 8.10. With this latest version, USB seems to work OK (for example I was finally able to sync my iPod touch), but there's still a peripheral who doesn't cooperate. It's a GammaScout geiger counter. It has a Windows software to download data off the instrument and show data graphs.
Being an "improved model" based on an older version that used serial port connection, the USB chip in it is just a serial-to-USB converter; but still, when the software scans for the geiger counter, it can't find any connected.
Is there anything I can do to fix or even troubleshoot this problem? Seeing the logged data is the main point of having this instrument at all...

Thank you in advance,
Cristian

EDIT - Just to be sure, I upgraded to the latest version (2.1) of VirtualBox.
I might add that when I plug in the peripheral, the Windows guest makes the "ping" sound of the "new hardware found"; and in the hardware devices list, under USB devices, I can see the "GammaScout" entry. And the original driver for the peripheral installed correctly. So Windows sees the peripheral; it's just that the software won't recognize it...

The ony thing you can do is waiting for next release and hope it will work.

You cant "tune" anything on uSB Access. It works or not.

Stefan, that's what I feared. Thanks anyway. That's strange though because it's not a complex interface/software like the iPod, but a very simple, standard serial-to-USB chip with a logger software. Anyway... is there something I could do to help the developers fix/consider this problem? Like, providing details or logfiles or whatever?

You might want to create a bug in the Bugtracker. You will get more responds from there. You need a separate account for the bug tracker though.
