Clone doesn`t work

Post by dieter99 »

Hello,
i installed WinXP successfully on VirtualBox . Now I would like to have a Clone. So I started DOS, opened the virtuelbox folder and entered:

vboxmanage clovevdi d:\box\WinXP1 d:\box\WinXP2

when the process is finished, i receive the message "clone hard disc created in format 'vdi'. UUID: xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

afterwards i created a new vitual machine and combined it with the new vdi-file (clone).

but when i would like to start the second WinXP (Clone), i receive the message "fehler beim lesen des datenträgers".

does anyone know why the clone doesn`t work?

There is a know error that has been logged in the Bugtrack system and addressed in the next release. There is a known workaround. Search the forum for setvdiuuid command.
