Hi...
This is my first time here...

I downloaded VirtualBox and installed Ubuntu on it yesterday, but there is one problem. The screen resolution is only 800x600!
While my true/maximum screen resoulution is 1280x800.

I tried the settings and tried using Full Screen Mode, but it still display 800x600.

I'm using Windows Vista Business 32-bit, 1280x800 screen.
With 1 GB RAM and 4 GB paging files.

Could you post here what the fix was? I have the same problem with Mandriva 2008.1 after upgrading from vbox 2.0.6 to 2.1.0 .

Additional detail: I'm pretty sure it was OK before installing the Linux guest additions, but I don't think you can un-install those. I did try a 'repair' via the vbox installer, but that did not fix the issue.
Guest addition seem to have worked if I look at how the mouse pointer works now. But if I send an 'acpi shutdown' (because I cannot reach the bottom of the Gnome screen do do a shutdown normally), then I get a pop-up window in which the mouse won't work, only the keyboard.

Update: when switching to a console with Alt-Ctrl-F1, logging in there and going back to graphical modes with Alt-F7, the screen was OK. But shutting down Mandriva VirtualBox crashed (repeatable).
I then downloaded Mandriva 2009 and upgraded the 2008.1 installation. After that all is OK, even resizing screen works OK, and no more crashes when exiting Mandriva. I did not have to install the Linux additions, and because all seems to work I don't think I will.
