Redirect sound from a guest to a file in host?

Hi!
A guest os sends sound to the soundcard via the host os (Linux). I can listen on the sound from the app running in the guest os via earphones connected to the soundcard.
Problem:
I want to, in the host os (Linux), redirect the soundcard output to a file.
How can I do this without using a cable between output and input of the soundcard.
