Hello.
In VirtualBox 2.0.6 I had:
- Windows Vista as host pc
- Windows XP in the virtual machine
- Network: "host interface". Then I created a bridge between the phisical and the virtual adapted. And in the virtual machine (windows xp) the config was: Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1. IP network: 192.168.2.10. DNS: 192.168.2.1
And everything was correct and internet went ok.

Now with the new version (2.1) I know no bridge is nedded.
And my settings are these:
- Windows Vista as host pc
- Windows XP in the virtual machine (the same virtual image)
-Attached to: host interface
-It detects my two host interfaces, but both with the same name. Because is a motherboard with two nics. One of the nic is connected to internet and the other one isn't.
I cannot choose what host interface to use.

And internet in the virtual machine is not working.
I don't know what to do.
I think in this version would be very easy, but I cannot get it.

Can you help me?

Easy. Rename the interfaces on the Host. Name one, for example, 'top' and the other 'bottom' to identify the interface. The name should be listed in the VM settings dialog.

But the name than is showing is not "local network 1", "local network 2", ...
The name is the hardware one: "Nvidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mpbs Ethernet"
And I'not sure how to change this.

But I cannot select one of them. It selects both nic.

I don't have Vista, nor a Vista Guest (can create one, but takes way too long, have better things to do then mess with that ugly system) to test it on, but on my XP (host and Guest) I see the name of the interface as followd (this is in the Guest):
ntel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter
ntel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter #2
ntel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter #3
So there is a number after it. Given, the idea I stated before doesn't work, else I would have seen the names 'Internal', 'NAT' and 'Bridge'.

Yeah, that's a problem. Please check this forum and the "Using VB" forum for how you can update the interface list. Something you could try is to disable the interface you don't use, so VB won't be able to use it either.

The nic I don't use is disable by BIOS.
But the Virtualbox continues showing the two nics.
I've uninstalled the programa and installed it again and continues detecting both.
