Hello,
There are some things I will be doing to which I will need to be able to run Mac OS X applications (mainly for web development). My question is, can I run Mac OS X on Ubuntu using Virtual Box? I know it can be done but, is that legal?
Thanks
~Shawn

Well legal or not is something I don't know about but it's at least against the EULA that you have to agree to when you install OSX. It does say that you may only run it on a physical mac.
Does it matter?

As a person (not a company) - If you actually own a copy of OS X - and that copy is not installed on another computer - I find it hard that Apple could win a suit about
where it's installed, even in the US.
In Sweden, where I am, they definetly have no chance as the EULA for OS X (or any Windows for that matter) wouldn't stand up to Swedish law.
Another question is if you run Ubuntu as (primary/boot OS) host on a Mac and install the copy of OS X (in VirtualBox) that came with that Mac, how would a court interprete the 'physical' installation part of that EULA?
So disregard the EULA as long as you keep the rest of it legal - that is owning a copy of an OS not installed on another machine - and everybody get what they want... Money!
I personally own a paid ('boxed') copy of MacOS X 10.5.x Leopard and if I could, I'd install it into VirtualBox even though I run GNU/Linux on a HP laptop...
As a note; it's going to be interesting to see if Apple actually can stop other companys from offering OS X on other hardware than Apple's as Apple is becoming so big it now becomes a question about the posability of an unfair advantage to bundle it - especially as Windows bundeling is being contested in many contries in Europe. Also cellphone hardware/operator bundeling is becoming harder to explain - people want freedom to choose what hard- and software they run and who they want to buy services from...
