I have a Windows XP guest OS within virtualbox 2.1.0. running on fedora 10. I have just installed Logitech QuickCam on the guest OS in order to be able to start video chat on Windows Live Messenger. The video can be captured by Windows Live Messenger, while the microphone does not seem to work at all although the speaker functions.

Is Microphone supported by VirtualBox? If so, any idea about how to use microphone with the XP guest system?

Do you have a working mic in the Host? If not, then VB won't be able to send the mic input. There are numerous posts about this. Some got it working, some didn't. Please use the search option mentioned in the Forum Posting Guide to find more info in the forums.
