Linux guest Windows Host Microsoft loopback adapter

I have installed Linux as guest and I am running oracle in the guest. I want to expose the oracle services to the host and be able to ping the guest machine. I installed microsoft loop back adapter and I have set host interface to loopback adapter in my network setting. Still I am not able to ping the Linux guest from Windows host and viceversa .. I would highly appreciate if anyone could tell me if I am doing anything wrong..

Did you set the proper IP addresses? Please post them, you probably made a mistake somewhere. You can also use your physical interface for it.

I use my physical interface for this, but there is another problem which I can't communicate to guest machine when the RJ45 line is unpluged. How can I resolve this problem?

I found that the IP address of the ms loopback adapter can't be in the same subnet with your physical iterface. otherwise you can't to communicate

When Windows detects no link on the interfaces, it brings it down, so all configuration is gone. That's why the loopback adapter is useful, it doesn't require a cable to be connected on both ends.

Did you even check the settings, and test what you want to do?
