I am using Suse 10 SP2 and while Nat networking works without a glitch, Host networking fails to work. No error, simply the packets don't go anywhere. Is there a workaround? I already did the prescribed method and it does nothuing (etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup)

I'm experiencing the same problem on Debian 4 (amd64) using vbox 2.1.0 and internet routeable IPs and a netmask of 255.255.240.0 - Nat works just fine. Hostif packets don't go anywhere. Tested using openbsd and linux guests - same dealio with both.

I spent the better part of a day with the good folks in #virtualbox on freenode trying to figure it out but to no avail - submitting a bug report.

Can someone link back to the 'other post'? I have the same issues and haven't found a fix.

Thanks.

Here my old one relating to the issue: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=12598

Here is the most up2date one: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=12399

This is a ticket in regards to the Host Networking I opened: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2891

I am sure there are also other tickets. As of now, there is no fix. Sorry.
