Confused with USB's

Post by alan sh »

I have just started playing with Virtualbox and, in the main, I think it's superb.

But I am having trouble getting my VM to see a USB port. It gets created OK and I can see an "E:" drive. But I have no idea how I get a USB memory stick to be seen by the VM. My REAL computer has 3 USB ports at the front and 4 at the back. Any ideas on how I get all of them to be recognised?

My system is an Intel (E8400) based system with 4gb ram. It's running Windows Vista 64 bit. The VM's I have created are Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista 32 bit - each with around 1.5Gb of memory allocated.

thanks for any info

Alan

VB uses filters to attach USB devices to a VM. If you create an empty filter, it will grab all devices that will be plugged in during VM operation, and you can select the already plugged in deviced to be send to the VM. This is all described in the manual.
