Can't get Host networking working Ubuntu Host & Vista Gu

I'm using VB 2.10 on a Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 host and a Vista Business guest. I have a wireless network connection called wlan0. I have selected Host networking and wlan0 as my adapter in VB (that's the only adapter it sees as available) but can't get Vista to connect to the network.

When I boot up there sometimes appears a message about duplicate IPs, though sometimes it doesn't appear. Regardless, the network icon in the taskbar has a red x. I tried setting the IP address as static to a known available IP but that didn't work either. If I hover over the network icon in the taskbar it gives me an option to connect to a network. If I click that it tells me that it couldn't connect but tells me I can try to Diagnose this Network Connection. If I click that it says that there is no configured network card in the system.

This works fine with NAT networking, but I really want to use HOST.

Anyone? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Noah
