Sporadic problem with Fritz! WLAN USB stick

I'm not completely sure if VB is the problem (maybe others had the same experience), but after installing VB 2.1.0, when I resume the computer from hibernation sometimes my Fritz! WLAN USB (http://www.avm.de/en/Produkte/FRITZBox/ ... index.html) stick does not work anymore.

It shows up in the device manager, but does not work. Trying to rescan for new hardware does never finish. Unplugging and plugging the stick (which is normally always plugged in) does not help either.

Only restarting the system (which doesn't work flawlessly, so I have to hard reset) helps.

The problem arised after installing VB 2.1.0 and vanished after deactivating VirtualBox USB Monitor Driver.

The USB stick has a rather special behavior because it first identifies as CD-ROM drive. If the specific WLAN driver is not present, this triggers autorun to install the driver from the virtual CD. If the driver on the other hand is present, it disconnects the "CD-ROM drive" before autorun kicks in and connects the stick as the actual WLAN USB device again.

OS: Windows XP SP3
