Ubuntu machine crashes with new relese 2.1.0

I just upgraded to release 2.1.0 on a Windows Vista host. (Intel core2 CPU 6300)
I have a virtual Windows XP which seems to work fine but my Linux Ubuntu virtual machine starts in a small window I am unable to resize and crashes when I want to shut it down.

Anyone knows how to solve that problem ?

I answer my own post :
I managed to keep it alive long enough to reinstall the guest virtualbox additions which fixed the problem.
