registration connection timed out

I'm trying to register a new install of 2.0.6 on Windows XP but keep getting the following error: "Failed to connect to the VirtualBox online registration service due to the following error: Connection timed out".
I'm behind a corporate firewall but have changed my proxy in IE to one I know doesn't require authentication and always allows these types of things through, yet it still cannot register.
What I'm trying to do is identify what (if any) registry keys (hopefully in HKLM) are added after a successful registration so that I can add these to multiple installations on student PCs across several campuses. I don't want it nagging students about a registration every time the program runs (and since our students have a proxy PAC file requiring authentication, I doubt this VBox registration would work through that configuration).
Does anybody know how to disable the registration window? To date I've had no problems rolling out hundreds of installs of Virtual PC and VMware Player, but I'd like to encourage the use for VirtualBox.
Thanks.
