Gurus,
I installed Virtualbox 2.0.6 on windows vista 64 bit. My machine have 6 GB of RAM , I would like to allocate more than 4.5 GB to my Guest OS win2003
But at the time of creating New Virtual machine it is not allowing me to allocate more than 3.5 GB.
Is there any limitation ? Do i need to activate something ? I have 64 bit OS and i can see complete 6 GB but can't allocate to my guest OS.
Please help me for the same.
Thank you.

This is done for the compatibility of 32 bit Guests. They can't see more than 3,5 GB of RAM. It might be possible on the next major release.
You also need to make sure that your Guest can actually see that much RAM properly.

It seems the vbox folks, while providing a version for 64-bit OS's, haven't actually enabled the most important feature of 64-bit computing; that of being able to assign more than 3.5GB RAM.
Either that or you're running a 32-bit version of vbox on your 64-bit host.

Even the 3.5GB limit is fairly recent. Earlier in development, it was a lower number (2GB maybe?). I'm sure >3.5GB support is on the way.
