3). Adaptec 29320 SCSI controller is not detected and therefore none of the Tape drives are visible.
Of course, the VM can't see the Host hardware.
2). I am using various NTFS partitions as shared drives in VirtualBox including the Virtual disk/machine. Problem is I have to mount each one manually in Ubuntu before going into VirtualBox, is there any way of having these mount automatically.
You have to add them to your fstab if you want to have them on boot. However, like Terry said, it's a good thing they aren't mounted if you use RAW disk. If the VM would be running while it's mounted in the Host, it can cause serious data corruption.

Sasquatch / Terry,

I take your point that the partition containing the virtual machines should be ext3 rather than NTFS, my reason for NTFS was so that I could also use Win2k3 as a host OS to the same virtual machines if it became necessary.

As for the hardware SCSI controller problem I notice that the Adaptec site has drivers for the following:
Rad Hat Linux
SuSE Linux
United Linux
and Linux Driver source code

Perhaps I should try one of these other Linux Distributions, any thoughts?
