No puedo reutilizar discos virtuales.

Post by ingen »

Hola.

Saludos

Edward courtesy of Google Translation wrote:I've created a virtual machine and it works very well, but I have copied the virtual hard disk (under another name) to use a copy of it with another machine (in the same host) and VBox will not let me add the hard disk because it is a repeated UUID.

Although the file has another name, virtual box does not permit me to use the virtual hard disk because there is already another hard disk with this serial, and of course I do not want to eliminate another virtual disk.

It is a hard drive with Windows XP (Original) and do not want to be using a license for each facility, which is why I am a single disk and copy as many times as needed equipment.

That if I can do well in MS Virtual PC, I do not understand because they do not in Virtual Box.
See the command VBoxManage internalcommands setvdiuuid which can reset the UUID of a VDI to avoid such conflicts.

Running multiple copies of the same XP install is a breach of your licence from Microsoft. I can't help you here.

To support a Spanish forum we would need Spanish VBox experts. Sorry. You will have to accept google translations for now
