Shared Folders not working
Shared Folders not working
Host: WinXP Pro
Guest: WinXP Pro
I'll add the folder to the share. Then go to the Virtual Box Network Shares folder (in 'Entire' Network') and there's nothing there @_@
Is there something I need to install in my host?
Any help is appreciated.

Did you also reboot after you installed the GA? Tried to install it again? And indeed, upgrade to a newer version. Either 1.6.6 or 2.0.6.

Did you remove the guest additions, reboot(VM) and then install the 2.0.6 guest additions version?Kite wrote:Still nothing. I updated to 2.0.6.
I followed the instructions in the manual. It seems like, even though I'm adding the folder to the share, it doesn't show up in the VB Shared inside of Entire Network.
I even tried to add it with Net Use. No dice.
Any ideas?

Please tell us how you set the shared folder, where and what name you gave it. You can't expect the shared folders to be seen by VB if you use the Windows Explorer to share them, those will be normal network shares. You have to set it in the VM Settings. And use only a-z charachters, no hyphens, no uppercase.Kite wrote:I've tried the Desktop and many other folders. Perhaps I'm missing something?
