Copying my Windows host to a guest

Post by peez »

I would like to copy my current windows (host) installation to a VM.
Is this possible with an already installed windows and no windows installation in the VM?

Welcome to our forum. You might want to take this opportunity to browse the Forum Posting Guide. This contains some useful tips on how to search for VBox knowledge and how to frame Qs.

This process is known as physical-to-virtual or P2V. The answer is yes, but their are a lot of wrinkles. If you search the forum you will see many topics on this including Vtov's Howto: Windows XP in both VM and native and its discussion.
