egrep '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo gives me,

Well, that says enough, you don't have AMD-v capabilities. Either not enabled in your BIOS, or the CPU just doesn't have it.

all phenome's have amd-v virtualization extensions.

Has this been definitively resolved in any way? I have same problem. I can run 64bit guests on my athlon running Vista 32, but not on my Phenom 9850 running Vista 64, I have latest BIOS for Asus M3N-HT mb, etc etc. I have tried Vista 64 bit guest and linux 64 bit guests, all with the i686 message. I have all the aforementioned switches set. All in all 2.1.0 is not too stable for me on Vista 64bit.[/quote]
