Hi people,
Host is XP-Home, Guest is DOS 6.22 and when I change floppies VBox cannot read the new floppy. "Invalid media, Abort, Retry, Fail."
Any work around for this?
Thanks
Dave
p.s. make that DaveLikesVBox
It is not working well at the moment.

Unmount the floppy, hit enter in the Guest to force a check, then mount the floppy again. You swap the floppy itself of course during this.

Hi,
Nope, it locks up the win3.1 guest. I had to Device-unmount - swap floppy, Device-mount and then hit Enter in the guest.
I did that 7 times to install win3.1. I then had the prospect of loading Corel 5 on 16 floppies and doing it all again. Slick? I think not.
As it turned out I was able to copy the Corel disks to individual folders on a CD on the host, then go to the VM and install from the CD.
I got lucky with that one as Corel way back then (1992) was also distributed on a CD and they just created folders for each diskette.
I am still very impressed with VBox for what it is capable of doing, it just lacks so many of the finishing touches. Having employed many programmers in my working career, I know only too well how they love the geewhiz stuff and skip the little boring bits, usually skipping the things that are most important to the end user.
That's life.
