Boot an existing Ubuntu install with Vbox in WinXP

Hi all.
I was wondering if it's possible to run an existing Ubuntu installation (8.10 in my case) in Windows XP.

I have a dual boot between these two operating systems, and having the possibility to run Ubuntu while I'm logged in Windows would be great.

Is it possible? And if it's possible, could you give me a hint? I installed vbox, but it looks like I have to create a virtual hard disk...but I don't understand...as I already have a physical hard disk partition with the Ubuntu installed which I would like to run in Vbox.

Thanks a bunch.

Check the manual for RAW Disk Access. It is not recommended, as it could break the install you are trying to run, but so far, that has not been reported on the forums. Also see the Tutorial: All about VDIs for some additional information.
There is also a howto in the Windows Guests forum for how to run a normal Windows install in VB. The setup is the same for a native Linux to VB. Keep in mind that by default, you don't have a proper MBR.

Thanks for your directions.
I'll immediately give it a look.

Thanks again :)
