System Crash caused virtual disk failure

Post by mbadawi23 »

I'm running virtual box on Windows 2003 Server R2 with guest ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibex.

Now, the host crashed while the guest was turned on. After booting up again I tried to restart the virtualbox but the state of the machine is "inaccessible". The details tab is showing the following error message:

Code: Select all

Hard disk 'D:\VirtualBox-Drives\ubuntu.vdi' with UUID {eb47f40d-51ec-4f3f-98f6-c92e34c2bd0e} is already attached to a machine with UUID {df2fea12-c8c6-4844-9d73-35f0797250ee} (see 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.VirtualBox\Machines\ubuntu-intrepid-server\ubuntu-intrepid-server.xml').

Result Code:            E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:              Machine
Interface:              IMachine {f95c0793-7737-49a1-85d9-6da81097173b}

any help is appreciated.

Please search for the error, it's been discussed before. Continue in that topic, I will close this one as it's a duplicate of an already ongoing topic.
