Windows XP Pro SP3 with libusb installed - VB USB won't work

Post by anewguy »

I had a problem with my VB - a Windows XP Pro SP3 host and Ubuntu guest and seeing USB devices in the Ubuntu guest. It took a lot of time and some great help, but it came down to having libusb installed on the Windows host OS (I do cross-platform development so I had it and also GTK installed in both OS's). When I removed libusb from Windows, the devices were detected and now can be seen in VB.

Does anyone know of a work-around for this, as I want to be able to develop libusb/GTK programs in Windows or Linux and share them like I have been (I did have 2 separate boxes - 1 for Windows and 1 for linus). My Linux box bit the dust so I installed VB with the intent of running Ubuntu as the guest and continuing my cross-platform development.

Thanks in advance!

Dave :)
