Hello,

I have installed Virtualbox on a XP-ProSP3 system, great programm, dead easy installation. Did that as administrator. Then installed another XP-Pro as VM.

Now, logging on as user I cannot see the VM I created. Ok, changed all the preferences and located the vdi-file with the VDM on a separate partition for my VMs.

I have no problems adding the VM as a hard Disk, but when I press ok nothing happens. There are no buttons like start and the only option I have is to create a new VM.

1. I have read in the manual that with XP one needs to create a new VM and can later use the vdi-file (?) when migrating to a new system, but does this apply to the same computer and different users?
2. Further to this, is there a general problem with using Virtualbox as restricted user? (have checked the forum with string 'restricted user', but only 5 hits with no relevant results)
3. Maybe my way of mounting the existing vdi-file was completely wrong?
4. Apart from user rights on windows, is there a problem with using the same VM with two users (not at same time of course), i.e. both altering the vdi-file?

Sorry for so many questions in my first post, and many thanks to the wise guys out there which might have some answers.

This are common issues. Search for VBOX_USER_HOME in the user guide and in the forum for example. You alo need the ensure that your .VirtualBox directories and files have the correct ACLs
