Unable to backup folders from my Win11 VM. VM dies during attempt

Post by dabo man »

I am attempting to backup seven folders totaling a little over 60 GB from the C: drive of my Windows 11 Home VM to a folder on the SSD of my Debian Linux 13 host machine. It is mapped as drive X: in Windows. I've tried Cobian Backup (used it for many years), Cobian Reflector, and ROBOCOPY. At some random point in the copy process, the VM will simply disappear and immediately reappear with the initial VirtualBox splash screen. If I repeat the backup attempts enough times, I'll eventually get through my data. I have about 600 GB free on that target drive, BTW.

Please let me know what logs I need to provide, and I will happily do so.

Thank you,

Will in Missouri
