vboxmanage failure--vbox 2.0.4, vboxmanage reports 1.6.6

Hi-

I have installed vbox 2.0.4. Running vboxmanage fails now, with the following error:

VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 1.6.6

All rights reserved.

[!] Failed to create the VirtualBox object!
[!] Primary RC = E_NOINTERFACE (0x80004002) - No such interface supported
[!] Most likely, the VirtualBox COM server is not running or failed to start.

I tried running vboxsvc manually as mentioned in the FAQ, but with no luck. What is interesting is that I have 2.0.4 installed but the cli reports 1.6.6. So I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling and I still get the same version reporting. I am running windows vista 64-bit (on a dell xps m1330). What gives?

Also, I can run the virtual box frontend and VMs without an E_NOINTERFACE error.

if your running the 64bit version make sure your in the right directory. The installer for the 64bit version installs to the WoW32 directory (Program Files (x86))

If you didn't uninstall your old version first, it's more then likely you have both still
