SOLVED: Is there an alternative to Bridging in Windows XP

Is it possible to give the guest access to the physical network without using the BRIDGE feature of Windows XP?

My company policies disables this feature on XP images.

An embedded bridging solution on VBox would be welcome, like VirtualPC and VMware does. Is there a "wish list" for the next versions where I can ask for this? :)

Nope, there is currently no direct access to the NIC possible. This might be changed in future versions.

What about a 3rd party bridge driver, is there any available? This would do the job for me...

you can try this:
http://www.ntkernel.com/w&p.php?id=20

tell me if it works or not Wink
attention: you have to set the bridge after eacht boot! but you can do it with a batch file in a dos-prompt.

Sorry for the late response tatoosh, I've been out for some time on a project.

This looks very promising and is exactly what I was looking for. Gonna give it a try and let you know the results soon.

Thanks A LOT! :)

Unfortunately, I've got no success so far.... :(

Bridge is set by the software but network's still not accessible in guest.

The problem must be related with "ThinkVantage Access Connections", the Lenovo's connections manager.

I'll keep you posted.

I agree this is one of my favorite new features. Hats off to the Sun's development team for getting this implemented. :D :D :D
