i am looking to do renderings (very processor intensive) and graphics (gpu intensive). i have 32 bit windows xp installed as the host at work, and for various reasons i cannot install linux.
the machine has is an amd64 athlon x2 processor.
i am allowed to install virtualbox - however, i am having difficulty understanding "hardware virtualization".
my programs are much faster in the 64 bit linux environment, will i still be able to get the performance boost of 64 bits even if my host is 32 bits, or will it simply "run"?
thank you

???
64 Bit dont give you performance boost. There might be some use cases better with 64 bit, but with normal use there is no reason to use 64 bit os instead of needing more than 4 GB RAM.
Another hint: For a 64 Bit Guest you must have a 64 Bit Host OS.
