Win 64 with Win 32 host USB question

Before learning much about virtual machines, I installed the virtual box with the intention of using it with a win 32 so I could use some USB things (cell phone, bluetooth dongle, webcam) that don't have support for x64 or xp_en. Anyway, is there anyway to capture the USB hub? Whenever I plug my cell phone in, absolutely nothing happens in the host or the guest (not sure why that happened).

Its better to install XP 32 as Dual Boot for using Hardware. USB doesnt work perfect, for some classes of hardware it does nothing.

For some strange reason I just can't get win 32 to install on my PC, the last time I attempted, it messed up my win64 drive, then, I formatted my linux drive from another computer and tried it all to no avail.....
