Hi,
I just got Win 98 installed (finally), but it seems there is something wrong with the video (drivers?). Currently I am ONLY able to run
640 x 480 with
16 Colors. Thats not enough! :p .. I need least 256 to run my old-school classic games.
When I head to my device list I can see im running
Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA). Im running a 8800 GTS (640mb), and there really isnt a Windows 98 driver for such a big card

. What can I do to make it possible to run with more colors and higher resolutions on my virtual machine?
Thanks in advance.

There's a howto which covers this in the "Windows Guests" area.

Thanks, though the link is dead on FAQ site but i found it here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download382.html
I have to ask though, is there any way I can transfer the file to the virtual system via my own OS, or must I download it via internet on the virtual system to get the file? I havent sat the Internet configuration on the virtual OS yet (not home right now), I hope it will work and I can get internet on it, but in case I cant id like to know if theres a "plan B" for me..

The alternatives to downloading directly into the Win98 VM are just as tedious I'm afraid.
The best option would be to get shared folders working, but I've not tried to do that myself yet, so can't offer advice.
For a similar problem I had with a DOS VM over the weekend, the solution I came up with was to make a copy of a virtual floppy image (henceforth VFI for short) which I could erase the contents of, and then use that VFI as my exchange medium. In order to get files into the VFI I first had to mount it into an XP VM I have, because it can access shared folders and it can access the floppy. Then I dismount the floppy from the XP VM and mount it in the DOS vm.
Like I said, cumbersome. But, you can't expect Sun to put a lot of work into supporting dead OS that people only really keep around for fun IMHO.
