Problem installing on vista 64bit

Post by activexpert »

Hi guys,

I tried installing the new 2.0.4 version on my Vista home premium 64-bit host. I got an error - " get the 64-bit version" .
So is there a 64-bit version available on download page? I saw one specific to AMD 64 machines. Does intel also have one similar to that ?

Please gimme a download link to 64-bit virtual box to run on my vista.

Thanks in advance

I asked a similar question and told me to use the AMD64 version (using intel processor).

The question is why it is called AMD64 and not plain x64 if it can be used on both processors?

The reason the packages are called AMD64, is because AMD was the first that came with the 64 bit processor, and Intel now uses the same instructions for their 64 bit processors. They used to use the IA extension, but stopped with it soon after.
