Try the install with 3d video acceleration disabled.
Also, use the debian text install rather than the graphical install.

Very few people will watch the video. It's better to describe your problem in the text of your question.

After not using VirtualBox in a while and having solved this issue before I was momentarily infuriated when I came across this again and couldn't remember the fix...

Search engines didn't find the solution quickly enough either.

So here it is:

fb=false

add fb=false to the cmdline when booting the install media.

I recall other/all Linux install medias being impacted by this as well. YMMV.
