Kitty terminal has badly messed up font rendering in VM's with Virtualbox (Mint, Ubuntu, ...). The developer says it is a GPU issue that he knows nothing about and suggested posting here.
There appears to be an issue with the Virtualbox GPU. How does one report this bug/defect/problem?

Re: Font rendering messed up in Kitty terminal
See: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker However, just because one particular software has a specific problem doesn't necessarily mean that 'VirtualBox' is at fault, especially if you can't show that the same issue arises with other software. It could simply be down to the software developers' own lack of knowledge/unwillingness to explore why their software has a problem working correctly in a virtualised environment.
Re: Font rendering messed up in Kitty terminal
Sadly that's true. The developer seems totally uninterested in VM's, judging from his offhand dismissal of the issue both in Mint and Ubuntu with several users. Oh well, too bad. There are many other good terminal programs. I think I'll just give up - not worth the trouble given the poor attitude of the developer. Let others be warned.
Thanks!
