[SemiFIXED] NVMe controller is completely broken

Post by birdie »

With a NVMe controller any guest fails to starts: VERR_PDM_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND.

I also wanna hope that you've finally addressed this three year old bug:

https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/21777
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/20447

This is also mentioned in viewtopic.php?t=111999 but I decided a separate topic wouldn't hurt.

The VERR_PDM_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND error high likely is due to having an old Extension Pack installed. Please install the newest (7.1 Beta) Extension Pack and try again.

Confirming fixed in Beta 2 but the mentioned bug is still unresolved. Windows 10/11 guests do NOT see the NVMe controller until you fix it using the commands specified in the bug report.

Would be great if you at least confirmed the bug report. I'm not asking to fix it ASAP, it's been broken for years.

Reproduced the issue -- yes, it indeed seems related to MSI-X support and related to the aforementioned tickets.
