VirtualBox.exe Entry Point Not Found (Windows 2K)

Post by The Dean »

First time poster. I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed. I did a search, and read the FAQ, but didn't find my answer.

I have an old Windows 2k machine that I would like to use to mess around with Linux. I decided to run it within VirtualBox. Anyway, the VB install seemed to go well, but after the reboot, I tried to start it up. This is the message I got:
VirtualBox.exe Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point_aulldvrm could not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll.
I have to admit, I don't even know where to start with this one.

Thank you, in advance, for any advice you may have.

EDIT: Issue solved. Somehow (still have no idea) I downloaded a very old version of Vbox that was not Win 2K compatible. Then, I downloaded the newest version of VBox (which I was sure I had originally downloaded) and that, too, was not Windows 2K compatible.

I finally downloaded, and successfully installed, version 1.56

To anyone who was working on this problem, thank you for your time and trouble. To anyone who has any direct connection with the VBox product and website, I would like to suggest that be made a little clearer on the site.

Thanks, again.
