Xorg consuming 80% cpu after saving machine state and then resuming

Post by jack087 »

Hello,

I'm having an issue with my Xubuntu 24.04 LTS guest on a Windows 10 host.
I use to save the VM state, rather then shutting it down, since I need to keep the current guest's session open even over computer's reboot.
But then, when I resume the saved VM I notice the Xorg process consumes a lot of cpu (up to 80%, with seldom even higher peak) and the guest OS slows down to nearly unusable (must wait for tens of seconds just to scroll a web page in the browser).
The beahvior does not occur if I shutdown the guest machine and then start a new session, which is not a solution to me though.
Any help to troubleshoot the issue would be highly appreciated.
