I've been running VB quite happily for a few years on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. But now I'm getting the error VirtualBox' is not a valid short file name.
I haven't knowingly changed drive letters.
I have uninstalled everything I can find.
Used Revo Uninstaller to search out registry entries.
Unregistered and reregistered the msi installer
Run the disk check and sfc.
But I'm still getting the error.
Any ideas??
W11 - VirtualBox is not a valid short file name.

Just to update.
I've downloaded a fresh copy onto the PC hard drive, instead of being on a removable HDD. And I get the same error.
Googling around, I understand that VB doesn't work with W11. But it seems to be installing OK on a new, reset W11 machine!!

I've been running VirtualBox (currently running Version 7.0.14), on Windows 11 since the OS it was first released and it works fine for me.
Perhaps a bit more explanation about what failure you're experiencing would help, including the full text of any error messages received. Is your problem with the installation/version upgrade of VirtualBox, running VirtualBox after installation; or during some other process?
