You cannot remove/disable the startup info panel, which was introduced in VirtualBox 7.0 to meet customer demands/needs, but in my experience it is relatively easy to mitigate the impact by clicking on the red 'x' to close those individual advisory notifications which repeatedly appear and then the Close panel 'x'. i.e. Since taking this approach on my macOS and Windows Host systems the VirtualBox Notification Panel only appears for a couple of seconds and then disappears automatically, unless a startup problem occurs resulting in a 'new' advisory message describing the problem.

In my step, win11 + ubuntu, it never auto hide. This is a very annoying UI as a end user. wish team can remove it in next release.

See: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/21916

No change is likely to be introduced in 7.0.xx, but may be considered for the next full upgrade to 7.1

The auto hide no longer works for me either. It used to until I had to re-install due to a laptop failure.

Please do something with this as it is a huge frustration.

@Dsen

The OP is referring to the VirtualBox process information/error reporting panel that completely covers the right-hand side of VirtualBox Manager screen every time a VM is started. Many users find it intrusive and irritating, as it can remain visible for some time with little useful information presented if there are no errors reported.

Ok, thanks for explanation, but I would note that there was no previously an auto-hide functionality for the notification-center at all. Center itself being closed *only* if all the messages there being closed (or prevented from being shown). Non-mandatory messages (like those from the last reporter) can be hidden forever by pressing that white-bubble icon instead of blue-cross icon. Auto-hide functionality was indeed requested by one of users before, but not implemented yet.

Has anything changed regarding this in vbox 7.1?
I don't see anything related to this in the vbox gui settings.
I'd prefer to disable the right side popup (for no reason) if possible.

Same here.

I'd like to continue using Virtualbox, but I find this sidebar so frustrating that I've had to stop using VB and using other alternatives instead.

Is so hard to add a simple option to enable/disable this annoying feature, so everyone is happy?

That not „relatively easy to mitigate” because you need to X out three notifications with every start of the virtual machine.

Hi, in case helpful / missed (mentioned above)...

Clicking the white speech bubble (with diagonal blue line) disables that notification from showing again.

Doing so for each notification will automatically prevent the side panel from reappearing upon VM restart (unless a new notification needs to be shown).

Kind regards.
