Can't rename virtual machine...

I get:
"Could not rename the directory <path to my vm> to <new desired name> to save the settings file (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0X80004005)
Component: SessionMachine"
I already tried removing and readding to virtualbox and changing the file name but virtualbox couldn't open it after...I'm simply trying to rename a virtual machine. How can I do this if it's not through settings? And yes the machine is off.
