Re: Super slow boot on ubuntu vm (up to 15 mins)
FWIW, there are two unusual long breaks (00:29 to 05:16 and 05:18 to 08.30) in the VBox.log file.
What is "F:"?

The VM is stored on my "F" volume, I assume that' what you mean

Yes, I know that, but what are the properties of it? Is it a network share, and external HDD, an external SSD, an internal HDD, or what? I'm asking because your symptoms are for example typical for worn storage media.

Oh ok, yes it's an internal HDD with 5t on it with pretty much only the VM installed there, it always worked fine the change was very sudden

It's just an idea, so you should test your internal HDD or you could try an external SSD for comparison.

Sorry as I don't know too much about it, but I moved the .vdi file (trough the virtual media manager) to an SSD and it's still super slow (altho it seems faster, still much slower than it was)

If it's not the storage media, then you could investigate on the host what's taking up the time, but there's no easy recipe for how to do that. A typical starting point would be your favorite task manager ...

Re: Super slow boot on ubuntu vm (up to 15 mins)
I'm running my Ubuntu VMs on a Linux box, but I was experiencing a similar delay as you after a recent update. Your logs show the same 5-minute delay as mine and at the same spot in the logs so I thought I'd post what solved it on mine, which was simply to update the guest additions in the VM.
Not sure what was broke or what it fixed, but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for the Idea!! had some problems with the headers and had to update Virtual box as well but now it works, boot went from like 10 minutes to 5 seconds
