trouble installing Extension Pack
trouble installing Extension Pack
@josefcarel - I have macOS Monteray and VM Box 6.1.0installed and run a WIN10 guest. I tried to install VM Virtual Box Extension package.
Ended with error msg:
"Failed to install the Extension Pack /Users/axelstuff/Documents/@axelstuff/VM-virtual-box/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-6.1.0.vbox-extpack.
Failed to load the main module ('/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/ExtensionPacks/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack/darwin.amd64/VBoxPuelMain.dylib'): VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND - dlopen(/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/ExtensionPacks/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack/darwin.amd64/VBoxPuelMain.dylib, 6): no suitable image found. I'm new to the Oracle VM business but willing to learn.

Re: dont see host attached usb drive on windows guest
I moved this to its own topic, since you have a Mac host not a Linux host.
"amd64" is the industry designation for 64-bit CPUs, even for Intel, since AMD invented the 64-bit implementation we all use, and Intel licensed it from AMD.
The message appears to mean that something is wrong with the main Virtualbox installation: it appears to be missing some security signing that it ought to have.
I suggest uninstalling Virtualbox and reinstalling. Then try the Extension Pack again.
Please note that 6.1.0 is very old and full of bugs, as the first first version of any new major release is. 7.0 is really tuned to Ventura or later. So try a later 6.1 version. And the Extension Pack version must match the Virtualbox version.

Re: trouble installing Extension Pack
You would not want to run 7.0 on anything less than Ventura, because of its being tuned to Apple's no-kext policy implemented for Ventura and later.
Re: trouble installing Extension Pack
..oh I understand. Meanwhile I had successfully installed the 6.1.48 extension pack and aswell the Windows Guest Additions.
I try to access an USB 2.0 memory stick - no luck.
What I have is a blue ray DVD (Buffalo) which I used to overwrite the first installed WIN 7 virtual machine to WIN 10.
I'm not able to set the tick to enable USB 2.0 (OHCI+EHCI) entry.

Re: trouble installing Extension Pack
A shared folder is a great workaround, and a lot easier than USB passthrough.
Meanwhile, the VM was probably running or save-stated when you tried to change the USB controller. Changing the controller is like opening a computer and removing/inserting a peripheral card, which most computers don't like to have happen if the computer is running.

Re: trouble installing Extension Pack
I had shut down the VM completely and than plugged in an USB stick (macOS recognized it - I did umount it) started the VM WIN10.
In settings of WIN10 "ports" I added an USB flash disk (1100).
In the WIN10 device manager the USB port was marked with caution sign (i.e not functional). Tried updating the device driver - resulting messasge was "driver is already installed and up to date".
Thank you for the tips you gave
