Updating VirtualBox via Tor

Post by hack3rcon »

Hello,
I want to update VirtualBox via Tor. The Tor is running on the following address:

Code: Select all

$ netstat -nat | grep 9050
tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:9050            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN
$
Is the following setting correct?
VirtualBox-Proxy.png

Thank you.

FWIW that page is only for checking from the Virtualbox servers if a new version is available. You still have to manually download it, provided you're using Official Virtualbox not the Linux distro's fork.

What is the problem you're having?

Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply.
I thought I could update VirtualBox through its Update section. BTW, is the URL correct?

I regret that I have no idea if it's right. That would depend on how your Tor proxy is set up.

FWIW 0.0.0.0 seems an unusual IP address.

I've never set up a Tor or any other kind of internet proxy.
