Guest additons error windows 7

I am having this issue when I try and upgrade windows 7 with Guest additions. Please see the attatchment for the error picture.

so 7.0.x revision 160260 under 7 test builds? Sorry I've never used the test builds before and I'm rather new to virtual machines only starting to use them in my cyber security boot camp. We are just getting into the meat and potatoes in CIT

Yes, that appears to be the number tonight. They are released regularly, so the number may increment some over time.

You could also try without any Guest Additions, if you don't need the features. They provide adjustable screen sizes, Virtualbox Shared Folders, shared clipboard, drag-n-drop, etc.

If you can live with standard 4x3 screen sizes in the VM and copy/paste of text isn't that big of a loss, no GAs would be an option. Network will still work completely.

Same as Adam022695 reported. Just downloaded the latest Virtualbox and I got the same issue today (Dec, 20th). Somehow, I had openned the folder and could access the exe, that I run. However, after installed the guest addition, I can not have shared folder feature to work.

Win is the 10 host, Win7 is the guest
