vm ubuntu doesnt start after mac os 14 update

Hello,

I have since a few months an ubuntu vm on my mac os computer, and since i updated it to MacOS 14.0, my VM doesnt start anymore.

It prints "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stopped".

Inside of the virtualbox directory related to this vm (i called it Ubuntu 22.04.2), i have several files :
- Ubuntu 22.04.2.nvram
- Ubuntu 22.04.2.vbox
- Ubuntu 22.04.2.vbox-prev
- Ubuntu 22.04.2.vdi

There's also the Logs directory in which there's VBox.log, VBox.log.1, VBox.log.2 and VBox.log.3 files.

I dont know what to do, should i send whats inside the VBox.log file ?

Sonoma is not yet a supported host.

Also you don't mention what VirtualBox version you're using, and whether you updated that too. I assume it's obvious that you should.

And you make no mention of what version of MacOS you were running previously. Ventura and Sonoma will require VirtualBox 7.x.

By all means provide a VM log file, which would fill in some of these gaps. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (none of the other files) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

I'm using VirtualBox 7.0.4 and I was running MacOS Ventura before.

I've attached the log file to this post.

Well I certainly would not expect VirtualBox 7.0.4 to be compatible with a MacOS version released more than a year later.
