I don't know if this will warrant a new thread, but I'm experiencing this as well (searched for `Reset failed, rc=VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED errno=19`), however while OP is about a comm port, mine is about an Android device in fastboot mode.

I also made sure that `adb` was NOT running on my host (`kill-server`).
